Vision Statement

We envision the University of Florida as an institution where all academic programs and student learning outcomes are assessed regularly with valid, reliable measures, and the data from these assessments are used for continuous improvement.

Mission Statement

Institutional Assessment has a threefold mission: Accreditation, Assessment Support, and Communication.

  • Accreditation. Institutional Assessment provides institutional support for the assessment and reporting requirements of the SACS accreditation process which involves providing leadership in developing and documenting UF's institutional effectiveness cycle at the program and unit level.
  • Assessment Support. Institutional Assessment provides support and leadership for university stakeholders in the development of comprehensive assessment at the program and unit levels, with a special focus on assessment of student learning outcomes for undergraduate and graduate academic degree programs.  We also provide guidance to the university community for the development of strategies, processes, and standards for the assessment of student learning.
  • Communication. We communicate with university personnel about institutional accreditation and assessment requirements, and advise the Provost on any necessary policy changes or development.
