Cheryl Gater, D.B.A.

Associate Provost, Director, and Accreditation Liaison

As Associate Provost and Director, Cheryl is responsible for additions, modifications, terminations of the university's academic degree programs and is the liaison to the Board of Governors on such matters. Additionally, she is the institutional liaison for the university's accreditor, SACSCOC. Cheryl has been with the University of Florida since 1999. She earned her B.A. in Business Administration and M.A. in International Business from UF, and her Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Wilmington University.

Maria Cristina Leite, Ed.D.

Director of Institutional Assessment

Maria Leite is the director of institutional assessment at the University of Florida. In this role, she collaborates with institutional success efforts, accreditation, and other initiatives addressing assessment and reporting practices. In Brazil, Maria earned degrees in Set Design and Communication. In the U.S., Maria earned a master’s degree in Exceptional Student Education, and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Diversity Studies. Maria has performed at national and international conferences. Her most recent accomplishments include two book chapters released in 2022 and 2023.

Lissette Tolentino, Ph.D.

Project Manager

Lissette is the project manager for the Office of Institutional assessment. In her role she is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining new and current projects. Additionally, she is in charge of conducting research on institutional assessment practices and psychometrics and is a volunteer for SACSCOC. Lissette's research interests are in psychometrics and assessment. She earned her B.S. in Psychology and Early Childhood Education and Development from UCF, and her Ph.D. in Research and Evaluation Methodology from UF. In her free time, you can find her hanging out with her partner and cat.
