Assessment Conferences at the University of Florida

Service is a primary component of the University of Florida's mission, and Institutional Assessment serves the campus, the nation, and the world through its conferences and hosted events.

Assessment in Higher Education: Enhancing Institutional Excellence

The findings of our 2017 focus group study on faculty assessment engagement were clear: the faculty wanted the opportunity to learn how their colleagues were assessing student learning. We provide this opportunity at our annual conference that brings together UF faculty, staff, and members of the higher education community from across the state, nation and the world together. Our conferences showcase presenters from UF, other Florida institutions, and beyond. This page connects viewers to the information regarding the collection of presenter videos and materials from the previous conferences.

The World Alliance for Arts Education

The University of Florida hosted the 10th World Summit of the Alliance for Arts Education and the first Young Emerging Leaders in the Arts Forum from October 11-15, 2021 as a virtual event. The summit was titled Arts Impact 2021: Context Matters. The summit focused on assessment and evaluation in the arts. We were honored to host this event because this was the first summit the Alliance has held in the United States.

Over 200 delegates from twenty-six nations on all six continents gathered to network, share research, and examine the multiple ways in which arts assessments are designed and implemented around the world. Throughout the Summit, multiple discussions by various groups of delegates resulted in rich sets of qualitative data that were analyzed and interpreted daily by the conference leaders and rapporteur. These analyses and collaborations resulted in the "Guiding Principles for the Assessment of Arts Learning."
